Katia Mossina is a talented graduate of the Moscow Institute of Architecture who shot to fame at the end of the 80s thanks to her controversial collections, which were covered in the style sections of Time Magazine New York amongst other publications.  Her catwalk shows which were accompanied by performances of legendary art groups including ‘Champions of the World’ and ‘Average Russian Sublimity’ which led to her introduction into the art world through none other than Perestroika – the reformation of Russian policy that allowed individuals like Katia to blossom in the New Russia.

Katia Mossina was personally invited and attended Vivienne Westwood class in HDK in Berlin. Katia decided at only 24 years of age that she was going to take the European fashion world by storm.

The brand KATIA MOSSINA first appeared in 1995 and its new popularity grew quickly.  Not only do KATIA MOSSINA designs sell in various boutiques throughout Germany and Japan, but in 2000 her collection title ‘War & Peace’ won the Premio New Design prize as well as a year’s scholarship to the Milan Fashion Institute (Instito Secoli).

By the turn of the century KATIA MOSSINA was already being noticed in her homeland , and by 2002, Katia had become the costume designer for the staging of Roman Vityuk’s Carmen.  In the same year she opened a showroom in Moscow and from that moment on, KATIA MOSSINA collections have continued to be presented at the world’s leading fashion shows.

The Belgian design duo AF Vandevorst was showcasing Katia's collections at the prestigious Fashion Museum in Antwerp alongside works from the likes of Kabakov and Kosolapov.
